Careers

If that sounds like you, you might be the perfect addition to our ever growing team. Read on.

Careers

At Richards, we have a strong stance on Health and Safety, team comradeship and quality, and we are looking for people with that same attitude to their work.

If you are interested in working with us, please do get in touch, and tell us your skill areas, and we will let you know what opportunities there are available – and what we have coming up. If we don’t have any current opportunities, we will keep your details on file, in case you have skills that match what we need in the future.

Whilst experience and qualifications are welcome, they are not necessarily essential.

The safety of our staff is paramount, so we expect all staff on site to wear appropriate PPE for the work they are carrying out. We will provide all the necessary equipment, and training on how to work safely.

We invest in our team

We are happy to help you gain additional qualifications and accreditations, as we respect the skills and training of the team members we work with.

Our annual leave and pension arrangements are competitive within the industry, and we are accredited with the National Living Wage Foundation, to ensure that all our youngest employees are paid fairly for the work they carry out, helping them become confident in the industry.

Apprenticeships

Apprentices are the future of the construction industry. If you are looking for an apprenticeship in any aspect of construction, please get in touch for a conversation. We work with Cornwall College, and Truro and Penwith College to provide apprenticeships to school leavers, or anyone wishing to learn a trade.

You will find that training on our job site is varied. If you are learning bricklaying, it may be that the projects we have underway don’t involve bricklaying every day, so you might find yourself learning another aspect of the trade. This will help make you a versatile and adaptable construction worker.

Work Experience placements

Please get in touch with us if you are interested in a work experience placement, either for year 10 or year 12, and whether or not on the construction side, or in design. We are happy to talk with your school or college to work through the necessary paperwork.
