We are currently seeking a talented and hard working Site Carpenter to join our team and contribute to our exciting projects.

Key Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Installing plasterboard, ply boarding, fitted wooden shelves and cabinets
  • Hanging doors and installing fixtures and fittings such as handles, locks, and hinges
  • Selecting and evaluating materials for potential defects
  • Reading and interpreting designs to meet specifications set by the design team
  • Communicating and planning work with suppliers and other tradesmen
  • Following good standards of work practices
  • Sourcing timber by size, strength, and budget for projects and advising on suitability to management
  • Assessing and reviewing additional carpentry or joinery jobs
  • Performing finish carpentry including skirtings and architraves, flooring, and external cladding

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience as a skilled carpenter
  • Proficiency and working knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques
  • Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively

Requirements

  • Demonstratable experience in a similar construction role
  • A thorough understanding of the UK Building Regulations
  • CSCS Skilled Worker (Blue) or Advanced Craft (Gold) Card
  • Full clean driving licence and own transport

Desirable

  • NVQ 2/3 in site carpentry, carpentry and joinery, or similar
  • Experience with varying construction methods

As a general builder at Richards, you will be able to be involved in the construction of beautiful homes. You will take instruction and complete tasks from the Construction Supervisor, or Construction Manager.
