After showing his excellent problem solving and organisation skills very early on, Darren was quickly promoted to Resource Manager, where he supports our director, Kurt, and Design Manager, Chris, in the Richards HQ. His ethos is ‘if this was my company…’, and he has a meticulous attention to detail and a great memory, ensuring excellence in all that he does.

Darren came to Richards from Royal Mail, where he began as a Christmas casual postman, was taken on in a permanent role, and rose to workplace coach, leading the Penzance sorting office to a series of internal performance awards. The rewards for the team were new vehicles and equipment, plus other perks, making these very meaningful awards for his team. What gets him up in the morning (in addition to his children and cat) is the desire to get the small details right for Richards’ clients. He also says Richards is a great place to work!

Outside work Darren completed his first solo flight in 2011, and also runs regularly, including completing the 2023 London Marathon for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
